Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 August 2019 Cumulative Patch Installation Issue

Server: Proliant DL360 G8, OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. Issue: After installing Windows6.1-kb4512506-x64 (August 2019 cumulative patch) and restarting the system, OS reboots into recovery mode. Must use the DISM utility to remove the cumulative patch. Server restores to previous cumulative patch successfully and once again fully accessible.. Anyone have resolution to this matter?

Re: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 August 2019 Cumulative Patch Installation Issue

Hi,

Thanks for posting your query in HPE Community !

Regarding the symptom reported , please check the antivirus software installed on the machine. Try installing the update after removing the antivirus software. ( don't just disable it as their kernel drivers will still be running and can casue issues )

Please review the MS documentaion and known issues listed in below article

Hope this helps.
