tcpip stack failure of config utility

Let me add my 2cents worth, as a customer of ours just stumbled over this phenomena recently.

In his case what he had forgotten to do was to set:

$TCPIP SET [CONFIGURATION] COMMUNICATION  /LOCAL_HOST=<hostname>

(This sets the logical name TCPIP$INET_HOST) 

Interestingly enough, he had create a new LOGIN session so that TCPIP$CONFIG did not produce the same error.
