Check for a read-only disk
Hello folks,
Is there any way in HP-UX to check if a disk is read-only or read/write without modifying/affecting any data on the disk?
Is there any VXVM or LVM command to do so?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Check for a read-only disk
You might get more help in an HP-UX forum
than in this Tru64 forum.
Before the disk is mounted or after? If
after, what does "mount" say?

Re: Check for a read-only disk
Steven,
Thanks for the info; have posted my query in HP-UX forum.
This disk is not yet mounted. Basically I can control and view the read-write permissions using the storage s/w. But I wanted to know whether there is any other way to know whether a disk is writable.
