Re: HP and VERITAS to Accelerate HP-UX 11i, replacing TruCluster

That really is a squeeze.

Options left:

--- downgrade to HP-UX-without-decent-clustering -- still dependant on the not-so-sure future of IA64

--- upgrade to VMS --- the real 'father of clustering, very stable, very robust, but very obscure, and the same dependence on Intel

--- downgrade to Solaris --- fill in for yourselves

--- idem AIX

--- go to one of the Linux palygardens

--- deliver your company to the BillyBoy game company.

.... and not too long ago, (then Compaq) featured the slogan:

" You BET your business "

we placed our bets, but I am beginning to have serious trouble believing they were winning bets...

Sure does not make me happy...

anyway,

Proost!

Have one on me.

Re: HP and VERITAS to Accelerate HP-UX 11i, replacing TruCluster

Did anyone at HP "Blue" read their own whitepaper "The Gold Standard in UNIX Clusters: TruCluster Technology"?

No? I can highly recommend it, read this:

http://h30097.www3.hp.com/pdf/trucluster_goldseries_nspof.pdf

I can not believe their decision. Veritas is no clustering in the meaning of VMScluster or TruCluster. We are using VMScluster for about 20 years. We migrate to TruCluster since 3 years and now? Back to VMS again?

What about future plans to develop Tru64/TruCluster. Migration to IA64? I think this would make a lot of people more happy!

Hewlett-Packard. Were did you go tomorrow?
