True64 ! tar vdump & DP backup hangs at 1 particluar location.

Hello Expert,

Pls advice while performing any one the backup (tar,vdump & DP backup )hangs at particular point i.e in one directory under the /disk2/xxx/xxx/xxx/lib/alpha/fast, it contains 4 files.

-rw-r--r-- 1 xxxxx xxxxx 1234 Dec 17 2002 Xusage.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 xxxxx xxxx 10089311 Jul 15 2003 PrecompiledRT32
-rw-r--r-- 1 xxxxx xxxx 10165156 Jul 15 2003 PrecompiledRT32U
-rwxr-xr-x 1 xxxxx xxxx 4079616 Jul 15 2003 libjvm.so

After Xusage.txt it hangs and no progress at all.
Any idea or any other area i can check.

I assume cp or cat on some of these files also hangs?

Can you 'cp' this directory to somwhere else ?
Any error messages in binary.errlog or var/adm/messages while doing so ?

Did you run 'verify' or 'fixfdmn' on the AdvFS filedomain ?

I didnt verify and filesystem..what is exact command and does can be done online for mounted filesystem ?

/sbin/advfs/verify -a domain_name

<-a> says to check an active domain, if you want to fix things then add the -f switch.

/sbin/advfs/fixfdmn domain_name,
works only on non-mounted domains/filesets.
