CD-writer 7200i plus and Windows XP problem

Hello,

We work with the following configuration:
Pentium II 400 Mhz
32Gb Hd Barrucuda Harddisk
9 Mb Partition for System
23Mb Partition for Documents
Windows XP home edition
Primary IDE; Harddisk (M)& ZIP drive (S)
Secundairy IDE; CD-writer & DVD-player
Video 3DFX Voodoo3 3000 AGP
RAM 512Mb
3Com Ethernet PCI

Our problem:
After installing XP the writer is only recognised as a player. After installing the updated applications for RecordNow (V3.1) and DLA (V1.2.93) the system freezes as soon as an empty CD writable is inserted. If we uncheck the box for 'Enable recording for this drive' under the Tab of the writer's Properties RecordNow shows the following message after the first attempt of writing to the CD writable; 'There was a problem writing to the disc. You can try again by clicking the Retry button. You will need another blank disc ready.'
and the Advancedbutton shows;
'Sense:02 ASC:04 ASCQ:01 (Command:00)

'.
There's absolutely no other CD-burning software on the system and the XP burning software is disabled properly by using Tweak-XP.
The software running at the moment of the burn is;
Norton Personal Firewall (for the cable modem), Norton Antivirus, Windows messenger, 3dfx tools. Screensavers and Energysaving modes are all inactive.
Can anyone tell us what to do?

TIA,
Marco Hoefman

Re: CD-writer 7200i plus and Windows XP problem

By the way:
RecordNow (V3.1) [C:\Program Files\HP RecordNow\mycd.exe] and DLA (V1.2.93) [C:\Program Files\HP DLA\install\dla.exe] are the version numbers retreived from the TAB Version of their propertywindows.
The downloadfiles I used are named: recordnow_ver35b_enu.exe and dla_ver31_enu.exe.

I would like to know if my drive is faulty or if it is a win.xp thing?
