Check the compatibility of the module SFP+

Hi everyone,

Currently I have two module SPF+, and I want to check these module are compatiple with  my Switch - 5406R zl2, I think a solution that plug two modules on the same Switch, one for transmit and one for receive, connect them by a fiber cabble, and use a command to check the status be up or not. My thinking is right? Is there any loop here?
