How do I find the series of my motherboard on HP Pavillion Desktop?

How do I find the series of my motherboard on HP Pavillion Desktop?  Trying to upgrade my son's processor to an i7 and also his graphics card.  But to purchase a new i7 processor it states for use in 100series motherboards......etc.  How do I find, whithout visually looking, what the series of the motherboard is?  There are several instructions online but none apply to this computer.  Purchased a year ago with the i3 processor, brand new HP from manufacturer.  We do not have the paperwork it came with.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
