PCM and HP ProCurve 2530-48

Hello everyone!

I have installed PCM in my environment and PCM scans my network and find all my swithes (e.g. 2510-48, 1905-10G-PoE, 2530-48G, 2520-24-PoE, 3com 4500-48, 3com 5500-24G-PoE) - for this devices I've got all information: Model, Model number, ROM, Serial Number...

But on 2530-48 with SW YA.15.12.0010, ROM 15.12  does not shown this information and shown in "Devices" at "HP Others" not in "Switch - HP 2500"

There is support list for PCM 4: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02664017/c02664017.pdf

PCM version - 04.00.06.628

Re: PCM and HP ProCurve 2530-48

Hello spectator,

It sounds like you're running an AutoUpdate version of PCM before the 2530 was added. Make sure you're on the latest software version on the device and esp. on PCMv4. The section for "Software update" under Config Management that you mention is used to download a list of the latest software versions for devices managed by PCMv4, not for PCMv4 itself.

To install the latest AutoUpdate for PCMv4 (assuming there's an active Maintenance license), go to Tools > Preferences > PCM Upgrade Management. Then click on "Check Now" and follow the wizard.

Afterwards just delete and rediscover the affected device(s) and they should be discovered properly.
Best regards,
Justin
