12GB RAM installed, only 4GB available

12GB RAM installed, only 4GB available

Dear Expert,

I have HP proliant DL 580 G7 Server. Physical 12 GB RAM is installed in that server but in system properties it is showing only 3.99 GB is usable. 

We have not changed in server suddenly the same is showing. So I have checked the RAM one by one but I am not getting display. I dont know how to troubleshoot.

Please help me

Could it be that you have a 32-bit operating installed on your machine? 
this would limit the memory usage in windows to a bit less then 4GB.
