1785 Drive Array Not configured after motherboard replacement

Hi there,

Here is our story:

We have 2 Proliant DL180 G6 servers.

The one with b110i controller had a pair of 500GB disks in RAID 1 array, and it's motherboard unfortunately died.

While it was being repaired, we've plugged the disks into the other server with p410i controller, and they were recognized and we could use our data on the other server.

Now that the other server is repaired, we want to restore the previous configuration, but the disks are not recognized. When turning the server on, the HDD lights go red-blue-red (upper) - green (lower) and then off/and don't turn on again until server is turned off/on again, and finally after b110i sata raid controller initializaiton we get the message:

1785-Slot 0 Drive Array Not Configured

No Drives Detected

After that, we get the loop of unsuccessful attempts to find a boot device.

Finally, I wanted to configure the Array using ORCA, but I never get to see F8 prompt.

In BIOS (triggered by F9) there is no option to use the array as boot device.

Please help. Is there anything I'm missing or do we have to reinstall or perhaps go for repair again?

Regards

v.

I've found the following:
The HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller does not support ORCA CL
That explains why there is no F8 option, right?
We've also tried running ACU, but it too only complains about no Drives found.

You may need to enable the B110 in the BIOS.

I can't remember exactly where. So you will have to look around, or get the manual.

The disks may be set to SATA, and should be set to RAID (or something like that).

I have seen it once on another DL1xx, a while ago.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

But once you get it set, You will see the B110 during post, with F8 and al the usual stuff.

And you RAID wil be running as before.

Re: 1785 Drive Array Not configured after motherboard replacement

The F8 prompt will not show up when no drives are detected so it makes sense that you're not seeing it while having that POST error code, ORCA CL is a different thing, did you guys check the cabling from the backplane to the motherboard? Sounds like the drives are getting power but no data link exists to the controller.
