Hi! I'm having trouble finding a part number for the LFF 3.5' drive caddy for the new Proliant ML350 Gen11. The part number for the G9/G10 equivalent is 774026-001, but that isn't showing compatibility with the G11. Does anyone know the correct part number? Any help much appreciated!

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
Hello,
The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen11 Server's QuickSpecs provides the following information:
4LFF SAS/SATABasic Drive Cage Kit ( P47216-B21). HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen11 LFF Embedded SATA Cable Kit (P47225-B21) is required when upgrading 2nd / 3rd LFF Drive Cage Kits with embedded controller.
8SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe x1 U.3 Drive Cage Kit (P47217-B21). Additional controller is requiredI for 2nd/3rd drive cage.

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
Thanks for replying! P47216-B21 is the part number for the drive cage - I am looking for the part number for the caddy though, not the cage. The equivalent of 774026-001 but for the ML350 G11 instead of G10.

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
Hello ,
HPE does not ship/sell HDD Carrier separately, this is done to protect our customers & devices from any counterfeit HDD or HDD from open market.
We certify HDD options available for the server & in order to retain warranty status, it’s important that HPE certified HDD for that model are installed.
Regards
HPE

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
I appreciate your taking the time to answer! Yes I understand the caddy is not sold separately but that is irrelevant to my question.
The caddy has had a part number at least as long as we've been recommending ML350s with the G4 - more than 2 decades. The G10 part number is/was 774026-001. HPE has to have a part number.
Please understand I need the part number for regulatory reasons, technical reasons, and our own internal documentation requirements. Why does this have to be so hard every time we go through another model upgrade? I've always eventually gotten the answer. This is just an exercize in making my life more difficult when I am trying to sell HPE products.
If there is some reason you'd like to preserve anonymity please feel free to email me at personal info erased.

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
Thnaks I am aware the caddy is not sold separately. My question was "what is the part number", not "can I buy it separately". The part number for the G10 is 774026-001. I need the part identifier for the G11.
If there is an HP policy that prohibits giving out that information I would appreciate that being clarified.

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
I am seeing some HP drives for sale with descriptions claiming to be compatible with the ML350 G10, G10+ and ML350 G11. Can you confirm these servers accept the same drives?

SolutionTentatively found the answer by checking the Quickspecs for both servers:
HPE Hard Disk Drives, https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00001287enw
ML350 Gen10, Page# 38, https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00021852enw
ML350 Gen11, Page# 39, https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a50004308enw
P53557-B21 for example, shows in both the G10 and the G11. Therefore the caddy is unchanged. 774026-001 will work in either the G10 or G11 and drives can be moved from one to the other without changing the caddy.

Thanks! I believe that gives me the answer I was looking for:

Re: 3.5' drive caddy for ML350 Gen11
Not separable? Unless you started welding them together, removing 4 screws separates them just fine. Typical HPE FUD. Yes, you can separate HDD from tray very easily. I can't verify the 3.5" part number you found, but did find a 2.5" in case people need it in the future.
Part number for a Gen11 2.5" BC (basic carrier) is P22892-002 or P22892-001. or a description search for 2.5" BC Gen11 should get you what you need.
