A general question re: BIOS revisions
Hi Everyone.
I have over the last few weeks been upgrading a LOT of BIOS'
Now I have been doing mostly DL series and a few BL series.
Problem is some BIOS are P61 or similar. Others are A09.
So my question is simple, What is the BIOS revision scheme across the server families.
I am just wondering more than anything really.

Re: A general question re: BIOS revisions
Firmware and BIOS upgrades are suppose to keep you patched and fixed. The last round to firmware 9.2 took out 2 of 7 server board and 4 HBAs. You are caught in the middle. Call support, it is upgrade drivers and firmware before they will talk to you. Even if it causes more problems than it fixes. I suggest doing full backups before doing it.

Re: A general question re: BIOS revisions
The BIOS revision is the date next to the P61,A09,etc.

Re: A general question re: BIOS revisions
As Johan said, the BIOS revision is the date. Every Proliant server has it's own family of BIOS (P67, P68, A07, etc.). If a server uses the same BIOS as another server, then it will be from the same family. One example would be DL585's, DL585 G2's, and DL585 G5's. These servers all use the same BIOS, so they are from the same family.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
