Alert Error - SmartArray P420i - HP DL360p Gen8 E5-2630v2 Base US

I have a virtualized server in Vmware 5.5, within the Health Status it indicates that it has an alert in the Storage category, specifically in the SmartArray P420i controller but I do not have more information, that the error is due or how to see more detail.

Hi jonrojrojas,

Few things you can check

  1. Logon to the iLO web interface
Check under Information -> System Information -> Storage
Is there any problem reported on the Phsycal drives or Logical drives ?

Check under System Information -> Integrated Management Log
Is there any errors logged regarding the array controller, cache, battery or the hard drives ?

  2. Log on to Array Configuration Utility / HPE Smart Storage Administrator
    - Since this is ESXi, reboot server and press F10 during POST to launch Intelligent Provisioning
    - Select ACU or HPE SSA
    - Look for any Warnings or Errors
    - ADU report can be collected for analysis by HPE support

  3. ADU report can be collected without rebooting server,
  1. Install HPE ESXi Utilities Offline Bundle for VMware vSphere 5.5 or the HPE Smart Storage Administrator (HPE SSA) CLI for VMware 5.5 on the ESXi server
  2. On the remote client server, install
    - HPE Smart Storage Administrator Diagnostic Utility (HPE SSADU) CLI for Windows 64-bit
    - VMware vSphere CLI 5.5
  3. Copy exe from C:\Program Files\hp\hpssaducli\bin to this folder  C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin
  4. Run command from folder C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin
  • ssaduesxi --server=<server_ip_address> --user=<username> --password=<password> --file=<targetfile.zip>

 Eg :  > ssaduesxi --server=x.x.x.x --user=root --password=Password@123 --file=adu-report.zip

4. Collect Active Health System Logs which can be analysed by HPE support

iLO web interface -> Information -> Active Health System Log -> Download

Hope this helps.
