Backup Exec 9.1 Fails to install on ML350 G3

We are having problems installing BackupExec 9.1 on a ML350 G3.

In the log we get this error message:
This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor.

We tried to disable Hypertreading rebooting with same result.

Is Backup Exec NOT supported on this hardware?

have you tried downloading the 9.1 package again from Veritas?
http://www.veritas.com/Vrt/vrtcontroller

You may have an install package that is built for a different O/S or platform.

Be sure to download the Install Package for Windows 2003 on Intel x86 (not Itanium Processors).

We just dug a bit further into the problem and it seems the issue is with MSDE which is failing to install.

MSI (s) (AC:78): Note: 1: 1708
MSI (s) (AC:78): Product: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine --
Installation operation failed.


I understand this forum should be related to HP issues but has anyone come across this issue on Windows 2003 Domain Controller?

Trying to pre-install MSDE also fails...

Time to call Microsoft... :(

Try to change default regional settings
to English, reboot and install MSDE/Veritas

thanks for the suggestions..

we have already set the regional setting to English rebooted and tried but no luck..

looking into the MSDE log files the error is logged as follows:

Starting custom action InstallSQLAgentSecurity InstallSQLAgentSecurity failed (EACJSRV01,LocalSystem,87).
Action ended 14:32:44: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.

Checking around we found that there is a hotfix from Microsoft which should solve that problem or we might need to move the PDC emulation onto this server termporary, install MSDE and move it back to the right server...

The first log we got is very misleading and put us off track - sorry HP ;)

-> MSDE failed to install, call microsoft and get hotfix !!
