Blank tcp/ip settings on hpdl360 G5

Hi all,

I have incounter a problem with several dl360 G5.

I installted on it Windows 2003 server, enterprise edition SP1.

And after configuring a static ip via the "local are connection" preesing ok, I can view the configuration with "ipconfig" but when i enter the tcp/ip settings again i can't see the configuration , i see the settings are empty as though i configured the interface to work with DHCP. ( I have attached a pic showing what i ment).

I installed HP support pack. The first time it was the latest, and after that an HP technician told me to use the 7.91 verion.

I have installe it too, but no progress...

Any idea???

The link you wrote discribe exactly!! what is my problem.

Yet, I did what it said but still, the tcp/ip settings are blank!

I installed the lateset drivers for my NIC :
"HP NC-Series Broadcom 1Gb Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2003 " Version 4.5.2.0 .


Any more ideas???

well

if you are using Network configuration utility or you have it install uninstall it

if you have it install or not continue with this:

reset TCP/IP settings using command

netsh int ip reset logfile.txt

after that reconfigure TCP/IP settings again and check if issue continue apply the first link I posted again

I tryed already reseting the tcp/ip stack but it didn't help.

Sorry for the stupid question but how can i remove the NCU?? it not so straight forward.

BTW,

I used REGMON ( sysinternals tool) to capture the registry keys that are in use when i open the tcp/ip window.

This information ( the tcp/ip settings window) get read from somewhere in the registry , so i wanted to capture it.

I am attaching the output of the REGMON.


One more thing.

I noticed that while i try to check the settings of the interface with netsh i get diffrenet outcome.

With netsh i get output that shows that the interface is dhcp enable, while ipconfig /all shows that dhcp is not enable.

Yes for the meter of fact I did.

It goes like this :

The problem was that the tcp/ip settings were blank.

Solution:

After the OS installation.

Go to folder c:\Windows\inf

Delete : 1. all the oem.* files
2. netb57xp.inf , netb57xp.pnf (this is the redirection to the monolithic drivers that the RIS uses while the machine boots)

I have a RIS server installing all Windows OS in my lab, on those servers it uses a monolithic drivers it need the host to use.
I guess those drivers made the problem.

Go to the device manager : uninstall the 2 network interfaces.

When finished, go to this link and verify your Broadcom network driver.

Download the correct drivers and install them on your system.

Problem should be fixed!
