Can I add a single drive to a Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller

I have a HP Proliant ML110 G6 with a Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller on the motherboard, with a raided C: drive which is running out of space. I want to install a single drive to which I can move a set of business data folders. My question is can I just install the drive and set it up up as a new logical drive on the controller, or is there another way I should be doing this?

I assume you know this won't have RAID protection.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Yes I am aware that it won't be raided.  It will be backed up on a daily basis and that will be sufficient for the business who are averse to spending 'unnecessary'  money, such as on raid :).
