Changing HDD to SDD on a active Raid5 ML110Gen9
Hi Everyone!
I have an ML110Gen9 wih the onboard Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller with just one raid 5 volume (4 Sata HDD).
My Idea is to change the drives to SDD, one by one like:
Change just 1 HDD (1TB) to SDD (1TB), wait for rebuild and then change another until I have the 4 drives changed.
Is this possible?
On this drives is Installed eSXI 6.5 and some VMs running.
Thanks!

Yes, in theory this should work. I along with many others have done this migration using the standard Smart Array controller. I have never tried doing it with one of the Dynamic Smart Arrays.
As with anytime someone will be working with arrays, make sure you have a valid data backup before starting
