Compaq Proliant 3000 Server Down

have a problem on a proliant 3000 server, which is PIII 600 Processor, DL Series.
On upgradation of the BIOS Firmware to the updated one from the Smartstart CD, the server failed to boot.
It generates an error, UNSUPPORTED PROCESOR, SYSTEM HALTED and the post is Stopped.
The bios update completed sucessfully, but upon restart the server failed to boot with the error mentioned above.

Server does not allow either to boot through the boot disk or the CD.

Re: Compaq Proliant 3000 Server Down

Ajay:

What was the version and date of the bios you loaded on the server? Was it E39 or P09?

How many processors do you have installed in the server?
Was this server allways a 600MHz system or was it upgraded?

If you have two processors, have you tried removing the Socket 2 Processor and its PPM to get the server to boot?
Enjoy!

I too would guess you went down the release hill when you flashed the BIOS. Download the lastest from the support section for your server and re-flash.
