Deinstalling 4/DL980’s and then reinstalling them in another location

Hi, I'm a newbee with HP and I need to deinstall 4 - DL980 that are connceted to a Netapp storage and reinstall in another location, "New data center"

Is there any specific procedure to shut down the HP units or can I just power down the system, unassembly from the rack and reinstall on the new rack @ the new facility?

What about powering up, is there any procedure too?

Any advice?  Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, you are right, you can power off, unassemble and reassemble the server as any other standard server.

DL980 G7 is a standard rack server.

Power down the server
1. Back up the server data if necessary.
2. Shut down the operating system as directed by the operating system documentation.
3. If the operating system automatically does not take the server in Standby mode, Press the Power On/Standby button to place the server in Standby mode.
4. Disconnect the power cords.
The system is now without power.

To power up the server, press the Power On/Standby button.

In case of Netapp storage, I am not sure.

Thank You!
