disk drive failures not being seen by scom 2007

Don't know whether this is the right forum or not. We have deployed a lot of dl580 g5's lately. We use SCOM 2007 R2 to monitor hardware\software. One thing i notice is the disk drive failures are not being seen by scom. I have installed the latest insight management agents and the server storage agents are running. The disk failure is seen in the windows system log. I notice the server storage health explorer icon is blank in SCOM ( see attached). I take a look at my older servers (g3 and g4) and the server storage icon has a check mark. do I need to update my proliant managent pack? Last time i did it was about 3 years ago
