dl 785 g5 hangs frequently

Hi ,

I have a dl 785 g5 which is installed with rhel 6.3. We use the server for our application testing and its frequently scrach installed.Nowadays I face the blow issue:

Server is pinging but unable to ssh.

Locally i dont get any display even its not responding to keyboard input or even mouse.

After hard rebbot everything works fine for another 3 to 4 days and again the same issue happens.

We run kvm based vms on that server .

We have the same OS in all other proliant servers and no issues.

Only error i could get from dmesg is an ACPI error.

What could be the reason. Any help is appreciated.

hello,

my recomendation is:

- check / update all firmwares

- run HP diagnostic (from smartstart dvd)

- try another os - like live linux cd to check if the issue is OS independent
