DL20G10 with WinServer 2019 fan lower to 18%,Vmware esxi 7 noise to 48% fan3

I install two OS in my new DL20 Gen10 Server for homelab, one intel SSD with Windows Server 2019 OS, and Esxi 7.0 with HPE custom ISO install to USB disk inside of chassis. 

When I select boot to win server 2019 , the three fan are lower to 6%,6%,18% . I run spp to install agnetless and other driver. 

But when I reboot and select F11 to esxi 7.0, the fan 3 is up to 48%. The esxi 7 is install by hpe custom iso, and it include agentless ,  in iLo page show agentless is OK.  

Same hardware but different fan rate ?  the bios and fan control function is real need to check. 

I choose DL20 for homelab, so the noise is something I care about. I have a ruck install my switch and DL20 G9,DL320Ev2 Gen8 server. they are ok fan noise with Esxi 6.7u3.

Please confirm how the Drive controller is configured on your server i.e. AHCI mode or RAID mode.

THe onboard SATA control in AHCI mode ,it connect two m.2 SATA drivers , 4sff 2.5 drivers with E204i use two HDD disk Raid0 and other two SSD in HBA mode.

Thank you for sharing the update.

Please perform following task:-
Stop AMS Service: # ./etc/init.d/amsd stop
Then uninstall AMD service from VMware ESXI 7.0 using following steps:-
esxcli software component remove -n <componentName>
# 7.0 AMS componentName is "amsdComponent".
Then reboot the server and test the server for any possible Fan speed issue.

I will try it this week sometime.  Current I use it boot to windows Server mode , that Fans speed only up to 16%. very quiet.

Nothing change in hardware, only change boot order from iLO config page to Esxi

before remove ams, fan3 40% speed

fan 3 up to 40% speed.

amsd package removed, but fan speed still 41%.  and iLO report agentless manager not available.

Thank you for update. 

The Fan speed seen on the server is due to combination of ESXi 7.0 , AHCI mode and current AMS service. We are expecting a fix for this behaviour in the next AMS release schduled to be released in the month of November 2020.
