DL360 G6 and the 1.2 TB SAS drives...

Will the HP 1.2TB 6G SAS 10K rpm SFF (2.5-inch) SC Enterprise 3yr Warranty Hard Drive work in a DL360 G6 connected to a Smart Array P812?

The HP website for the drive only show compatibility for G8 servers BUT the drive picture is showing it as the older cage drive.

Also, the P812 controller doesn't mention this drive in the quickspecs http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13558_na/13558_na.html

I suggest talking to your HP rep to verify compatibility, these drives are about 1G a pop (retail), don't want to make the wrong choice there.

As you can see in the quick specs, P812 support does not have the option for 1.2 TB.

It support SAS Hot Plug SFF (2.5-inch) Midline (MDL) Drives

HP 1TB 6G SAS 7.2K rpm SFF (2.5-inch) Dual Port Midline

Yes, I saw that.  Was just trying to figure out if it would work.

Just trying to maximize a storge in the DL360 G6 with out adding an extrernal chassis.

Unfortunately, we need to have an extrernal chassis for 1.2 TB specification.
