DL360e G8 Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise hardisk not detected
i bought DL360e G8 with single SAS Hardisk. This is my detail :
BOOT OK
Hardisk Detected in BOOT screen 300 GB
Install Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise hardrive not detected
SAS B320i RAID Controller License via Proliant Intelligent Provisioning Not installed (i dont have the key or not includes when i bought the server?) cannot configure array
i also tried
For systems with the B320i SAS Controller :
1. Boot the server into System Options
2. Navigate to HP Smart Array B320i Raid Configuration
3. Change DISABLED
result : hardisk drive still not detected with/without Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise driver
4. HP Smart Array B320i Raid Configuration ENABLED
result : Driver compatibility Detected B320i Controller but after load driver it still not detected
For systems with the B120i SATA Controller :
1. Boot the server into System Options
2. Navigate to SATA Controller Options -> Embeded SATA Configurations
3. Change it to ENABLE SATA AHCI SUPPORT
result : hardisk drive still not detected with/without Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise driver
Maybe i missconfigured something?

Re: DL360e G8 Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise hardisk not detected
So it depends on what controller is in your server.
If it is a B120i, this is just a SATA controller, won't work with a SAS disk., If it is the B320i controller, you need a license key to use SAS drives when the controller is in RAID mode.
During POST the controller will display ROM information so you can identify which controller you have. If you've disabled the RAID function and the drive is still not recognized I'd suspect you have a system with the embedded B120i. If this is the case, you'll need to get a SATA drive or add another supported SAS controller
