DL360P Gen9 Heating Issue
We recently received 2 DL360P Gen9 servers. The issue is that CPU2 is running way too hot, both are having the same issue. ILO says all is well. You are unable to lay your hand on the cover due to the heat it creates. Last time this happened turned out to be bad cpus, on a G6. Just wondering if anyone out there has come across this issue?
I am checking the only other 3 Gen9's we have running to see if they are running this hot, we only have 5 so far.
Any ideas??
Thanks
Javier

Re: DL360P Gen9 Heating Issue
OK after further testing, I am able to replicate the problem.
Issue is with the BIOS HP Power Profile set to Maximum Performance. When I set it back to its default of Balanced Power and Performance all is well. Also before I made this change I changed Optimal Cooling to Maximum Cooling to see if that made a difference and it did. So I just changed these settings back to their defaults for now.
Following the "Configuring and tuning HP Proliant Servers for low-latency applications" guide. If anyone is wondering why we made these changes.
Thanks
Javier
