DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
I have a DL380 G4 that does not want to boot.
It does not show any bios screen.
iLO is not responding.
I have swapped, reduced the memory. Swapped CPU, tried with one CPU removed, reseated any component that unplugs.
All status lights are green.
Status lights next to the RAM always end up with oxxoo.ooox
Amber lights when removing all ram, or all cpu's.
Any other ideas are welcome.
Thanks
Jack

Re: DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
Check out the maint/service guide and see if the motherboard status lights (see system board LEDs section" show anything.

Re: DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
Tried using one psu, swapped location.
tried removing the battery for 10 min.
tried reseting cmos, nvram with S6
removed controller cache.
swapped voltage regulator
I hope you have another clue.
It just stubbornly refuses to boot.

Re: DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
It just show a blank screen.
I checked the internal status leds and all are either green or off. Just as they are supposed to be.

Re: DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
Remove ALL PCI cards; & boot with MINIMUM memory configuration. > If this doesnt work, swap the DIMMs;
If it boots with the minimum configuration, install one PCI card at a time & boot; The one time it doesn't boot, you should have the root cause.
Hope this works.
Thanks & Regards,
James.

Re: DL380 G4 Does not boot, no bios screen
Unfortunately it does not have any PCI cards.
I have tried rebooting with one of the 2 processors (tried both)
Tried this with only 2x1gb ram, swapped the ram in between tries
This looks like 2 cpu's and or 6 memory sticks all got fried at the same time. Very unlikely but, I guess, possible. Or the mobo is gone without realising it.
Currently trying to rebuild on a G3, and this is a whole other lot of fun.
Thanks
