DL380 G6 - newly reformat unrecognised ipmi interface& Base System Device

Hello All

 

 

This  device appears in Device Manager with yellow warning right after fresh install windows ..2008 r2 with prior run of

 

 

fw update to 64 & smart start 8.7

 

It appears also the raid controller seems to be generic too...

 

 

Guess smart start not installing these.. then..

 

Did try to look in hp dl380 g6 driver listing but none macthed .. ( IPMI Interface or Base System Device)

 

Can someone assist how to get all these updates or which one should i download off the drive list site...

I'm not positive but that might be referring to the ILO 2 device.

 

Make sure you're installing the latest ILO 2 "management interface driver" and "management controller driver".  For example:

Management Interface Driver

Management Controller Driver

 

Always make sure you visit the drivers/downloads page for your server... you can generally find what you need there.  The only exceptions would be trying to find drivers for a newer OS on older hardware (like Server 2012 R2 drivers for the DL380 G6).  But you can usually get the same thing by looking at the latest OS like Server 2012 or even Server 2008 R2 since the driver may be the same thing.

 

You might even find the drivers you need for a newer OS by looking at a different and newer server.  For example, the DL360/DL380 G5 servers also have ILO 2 but are no longer supported, so you can't find the Server 2012 drivers for it.  But since the G6 has ILO 2 you can find the Server 2012 drivers for the ILO 2 on that device page.

 

Just some helpful tips there.
