DL380 G7 +HP P222?
Hi guys,
i am building a web server with HP DL380 G7, 128Gb Ram, 2x Intel QuadCore XEON X5670; Vmware ESXi.
I am planning to replace stock P421 HP array controller with P222 because of better SSD support. Do you think it would make sense? I found on the HP site, that P222 is only compatible with G8, but read also multiple posts about people installing it on G7.
My second thought would be of using non-server SSDs in RAID1 mirror.
OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 480GB`s
or
Samsung 850 PRO 500GB
Do you think it will be a proper setup?
Thanks
Best regards
Patrik
