Hi,
If configuring 868703-B21 HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 8SFF Configure-to-order Server with aditional SFF cage (for a total of 16 SFF slots) 826691-B21 HPE DL38X Gen10 SFF Box1/2 Cage/Backplane Kit and P408i-a, PCIe expander card is not included in BOM (using OSC). However P408i-a by default only has 8 ports (ie connect to 8 disks). So my question is:
does either inbuilt 8SFF backplane or 826691-B21 has SAS expander implemented on backplane itself, or PCIe SAS Expander 870549-B21 is needed? Or am I missing something else? Based on what I have seen in user guide, I tend to think expander card is needed here (or P816i-a instead of P408i-a) ...
TY in advance.

SolutionI think, you are right, the Sizer did not respect this.
Every SAS Cage have 2 Connectors and the P408 have only 2.
You have to use the Expander, or the P816.
Or start with the 24-SFF Model, that use a P816.
If prefer the P816.

Re: DL380 GEN10 8SFF Chassis + SFF Box1/2 Cage/Backplane Kit + P408i-a - is expander card needed?
TY for confirmation. Do you maybe know if 8SFF CTO server is configured by OCA with 16SFF bays and P408i-a (that is missing expander card) and is ordered, what would happen in production? Would the server be delivered with expander or not? Would this "Misconfiguration" raise some flags? Would OSC / OCA be updated?
