DL380p gen8, added 2 hard drives, but they show as not authenticated
I added two SAS hdd to a RAID 5 array in a DL380p gen8. The two new hard drives show as status: not authenticated in the Smart Array P420i Controller section. Much of the detail that is available on the drives that show as status: OK is missing on these drives. These are SAS drives were supposed to be a match to the 3 originals, but I see that they have different firmware and are listed as seagate drives not HP drives. What does it mean? Is there a way to get them to authenticate? I bought these from provantage based on the idea that they were fully compatible...are they not?

Re: DL380p gen8, added 2 hard drives, but they show as not authenticated
Hi,
Non-HPE branded hard drives in HPE server will cause this issue, thats because HPE firmware does not recognise the third party hard drives.
