DL580 G9 SSD firmware HPG3 to HPG5 not activating (cp039742)

SSD drive model is MK001920GWJPQ. Both online and offline installation succeeds with no errors in the log file, however on reboot to activate the new firmware nothing happens and they stay at HPG3. I tried temporarily disabling secure boot but no difference.

I have other DL580's that went from HPG2 to HPG5 with no problems. Looks to be only the ones that were on HPG3 that are having the issue. Any ideas?

Refer to the Advisories from the below links. Verify if the Controller firmware is updated prior to updating the SSD firmware to HPG5.

If the issue remains, over write the HPG3 firmware again, shutdown the server completely & unplug the power cables to the server. Wait for 10 minutes, plug in the power cables & turn on the server.

Then perform the HPG5 update on the server & follow the same steps mentioned above & verify the firmware version.

Write back with an update and for any further clarifications.
