Do DL180 G6 Support Windows Server 2012/R2

Hi all,

I am plan buy a DL180 G6 14 LFF version as Storage Server (CIFS/SMB/iSCSI)
With P410, B110i

But plan install Windows Server 2012/R2 on it.

But the HP Support Page there

I am not see Server 2012/R2 on the list.

Do anyone there successful 2012/R2 on it?

Hi Jimmy,

There is no official support for Server 2012 on the 180 G6 but you can get drivers for the P410 & B110i for 2012 from HP.

These are probably the most important pre req for installing 2012.

The chipset is a std intel 5520 which I think has drivers bundled into 2012 but if not then you will be able to get them from the inte  download centre.

So you can install 2012 on the 180 G6 but it will have no HP support.

I have two DL180 G6 with Server 2012.

1. The System Management Homepage will not run at all, it can not detect the "Management Processor", nothing shown on the page.

2. I need to install some drivers that desgined for 2008 on them.

3. You can use HP Service Pack for ProLiant (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/service_packs/en/index.html), to install most of drivers

they work fine with esxi 5.1 - i picked up those dual 6 core model on ebay for $399 and it is solid.

if you want ilo2 you can get a SE1120 motherboard for $25 which is from lefthand. very nice motherboard compared to dl180 g6 (same physical everything just better motherboard!) ebay

Am trying to install Windows Server 2012 STD on my DL 180 G6 with 14x 1TB drive raid 6 . Been working on this project for 3 day and spend countless hours searching online for info but so far no luck, any help and info would be helpfull . Thanks
