I've got to upgrade the firmware on iLOs, RiLOEs & RiLOE IIs in live host systems.
I have read that the older RiLOEs require you to boot the host system from floppy to upgrade the firmware.
However is it possible to upgrade the newer iLOs and RiLOEIIs without having to reboot the host operating system?
Is there any documentation available about this?
Thank You,
Graham.

There are few options how to run
Online, Offline, Diskette, Remote Deployment and Firmware CD http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locOsCat/20_66.html
You can find treasured info from provided PDF http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00487453/c00487453.pdf

Re: Does iLO upgrade require host server reboot?
If you upgrade via the iLO web interface, the host server does not require a restart. The iLO will restart itself for the changes to take effect.

Re: Does iLO upgrade require host server reboot?
iLO firmware upgrade over the web does not require a reboot of the host system.
