Fans regulation on HP Proliant DL160 G6
Hello everyone!
Can I somehow control speed of fans on my hp proliant dl160 g6 without iLO? I mean, is it possible to set exact value of rpm to each fan?
HP System BIOS - 033 (07/01/2013). BMC Firmware version 04.26 (May/08/2013). BMC SDR Version: 2.18.1.34

Re: Fans regulation on HP Proliant DL160 G6
Hello,
First did your search on the internet for your issue ? I found this link interseting :
The other solution would be to do it with a software able to do it if you have an OS installed, but you may encounter driver issues (OS/software unable to read/set fan speed).
Otherwise, the last solution is to do it with an arduino. Again this has been done with success an you can find step-by-step on internet. The goal is to place arduino between iLO and the fan, and adapte the fan speed without touching the temp sensors, witch still let iLO shut-down the server if the temp is too hight.
Have a good day!

Re: Fans regulation on HP Proliant DL160 G6
Hi ,
I think i found something that might help you in the service and maintainence guide of DL160 gen 6.
https://servak.com.ua/image/manual/emr_na-c01728029-10.pdf pg 117
The option available in IPMI Submenu of the BIOS Setup Utility......
• Hardware Health Information—Set temperature and fan rotation rate.
Please follow the link and let me know if it helps!!!
Thanks
