Fixing fan speed on a DL380p

Hi,

Is there any way to fix the fan speed to a given level?

Thanks.

Not at a fixed level, but you can increase the cooling by setting it to increased or optimal maximum cooling.

The minimum is always set by temperature readings.

Hope this helps!

Re: Fixing fan speed on a DL380p

Temperature readings from CPUs are totally wrong.

In the optimal cooling config I cannot make the fans go faster than this:

Fan Location Present Speed of max Redundant Partner Hot-pluggable
--- -------- ------- ----- ------ --------- ------- -------------
#1 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 6% Yes 0 Yes
#2 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 6% Yes 0 Yes
#3 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 6% Yes 0 Yes
#4 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 16% Yes 0 Yes
#5 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 27% Yes 0 Yes
#6 SYSTEM Yes NORMAL 27% Yes 0 Yes

For some reason the speed is different, and therefore the CPU 1 temp goes up to 93C at 100% load.

I cannot make the fans go faster even running at 100% with open lid and blocking the airflow beyond the CPUs. So the back of the mother received no airflow but still the fans are not increasing the speed.

Shameful temp control.

Re: Fixing fan speed on a DL380p

I've now removed some dissipators from the mobo chips to see if when they get hot, the fans speed up.

What a P.O.S an hp server is. My god.

No wonder why I got for $150 on Jan 2019 a server that cost around 3k on 2015!!!
