Hard Drive fail - Need to replace discontinued drive

Hello,

One of the drives on the server has failed. I am currently looking in to replacing it but the failed drive a MAXTOR ATLAS10K4_36SCA has been discontinued. Would anyone be able to recommend a replacement or alternative.

I currently have a HP ProLiant ML350 G3 and the drive is part of a raid.

If anyone needs any more information please let me know

Thanks

Steven

I can't tell that it will work in your case but I have used drives with the same specs in similar situations. So a replacement drive of same size, 10k (or 15k), and SCA connector should work.

Re: Hard Drive fail - Need to replace discontinued drive

Hi,

Do you have the drives HP model number? If it's a genuine Compaq or HP drive it will begin with BD036 if it's 36Gb in size. You can get this from the ACU. There will be a few alternatives available. Also, if you remove the drive and look at the label it shuld state "Replace with HP Spare Part XXXXXX-XXX" This information will also give the original spare part number and an alternative to that can be found.

I hope this helps,
