HDD for server HP DL380eGen8
Hi!
There is an old server in configuration: DL380eGen8 B320i (512MB). This server has 8 HDD 652757-B21/2TB SC 6G 7.2K LFF SAS (seagate constellation label). To date, 3 HDDs have already failed.
And to date, HDD 652757-B21/2TB SC 6G 7.2K LFF SAS is not available.
Can I replace the current HDDs with the new Seagate Exos 7E8 4 TB SAS ST4000NM0025?
I 'm embarrassed by two problems:
1) HDD Seagate Exos 7E8 4 TB ST4000NM0025 SAS is HDD on 12G. The DL380eGen8 backplane is on the 6G. Will they be compatible?
2) Can the new HDD Seagate Exos 7E8 have problems with the DL380eGen8 platform itself? Will the functionality of the fans in the server chassis not be disrupted?
Best regards,
Luck

Re: HDD for server HP DL380eGen8
Hello,
1- 12G drives will run at 6G.
2- Fans will run fast because the firmware of the discs is not HPE.
You can check compatible discs from the below link.
