Help with HP Prolliant ML310e G8 Storage Array
I recently acquired 2 X HP 310e G8 V2 32GB P420-1 Servers , I Installed Windows Server 2016 and configured and updated all required Bios / Firmware and drivers , The server has onboard SATA and an additional Raid Controller P420 - 1MB installed .The raid controller is connected to a Chassis which can drive 8X SFF SAS HDD , every thing seems to be working I can boot using SSD through the motherboard SATA which was previously connected to the CD ROM , As the raid card is working I can also boot through the SAS HP 146 GB drive which is installed in the Cage .
Going Forward I want to install 8 X 1TB SSD Drives . When I installed a single WD or Kingston SSD using the HP HDD Adaptor for Gen 8 Server the SSD is not recognized or picked up by the raid Card , I have tried using 250Gb drives still nothing , I have moved around the HDD slots still nothing .
I have previously done upgrades on HP G6, G7 and G8 DL 360 and DL 380 servers going completely SSD and never had this issue .
My Question is do I need additional drivers, Firmware or something to get SSD to work with the ML310 are there any limitations.
