2 things you can try
- reseat riser cage for your server
- Clear CMOS, page 89

Re: High Fan Speed on DL160G5 running Windows server 2008
However, when I was updating ILO with rompaq utility, it DID slow them down to normal noise level (3000 rpm). I can now run it again and exit (certanly without fw upgrading), and server continues to work quitely as it should be, but in DOS mode. I don't know how to initiate boot sequence for windows from dos session however.
Is there any documentation or whitepapers for BMC programming, so I can write a windows service myself to slow fans on g5 servers?

Re: High Fan Speed on DL160G5 running Windows server 2008
same problem: my HP DL160G5 fans are running on full speed on Windows Server 2008.
I don't belief that this is normal. Only 1 prozessor and 2 hard disks are installed.
I am not able to change FAN options in BIOS Setup (disabled).
Pls help...

Re: High Fan Speed on DL160G5 running Windows server 2008
This new forum set up is great. I'm having this problem, the link on the post I'm replying to is dead. I get great search results that point to the forum from Google, but those links don't go anywhere and using the search feature for the forum doesn't seem to provide the same results as Google.
