How to find the Serial number of HP DL 380 and ML 350

Hi Guys,

I have few HP DL380 and ML 350 Servers. On most of them i have CentOS 4.4 installed and couple of them have Win 2003. I need to find the serial number of all machine. Do we have any utility for both Linux and Window by which i can find the serial number ?

Hi Talat,

if you don't have physical access to the server you can start HP insight diagnostic tool and there you can find serial number of server and the rest of information.

In other way you can find label on every HP server with valid product and serial number.

Unfortunately, no!
But, if you have configured ILO interface you can connect via http and look there, you will find!

Thanks. I got the serial number via ILO for DL 380 servers. But for ML 350 their is no ILO interface. Any solution for them ?

It's a old generation of ML350:(
No, only physical access to the server ro access via https://servername or ip adress:2301

Windows:  wmic  bios get serialnumber

Linux:  dmidecode -s system-serial-number

Depending on the server generation, it is either on a sticker attached to the chassis, or a small tab that slides out on the front panel, or in some cases both
