HP Gen10 Microserver does not boot after shutdown.
Hello Community,
I have to following problem regarding my Gen10 Microsever.
After am unpredicted shutdown (circuit breaker in my home) my microsever was shut down and since then refuses to boot. During the post screen the code 92 is shown in die down left corner of the screen and the message to enter boot menu or bios is not shown. What I have done so far.
Remove all HDDs, no change.
Remove the internal USB boot device, no change.
move the Ram to the second socket, no change.
Remove CMOS battery, no change.
reset bios with internal jumper, no change.
But what I have been discovered is that the server properly boots unless no usb device such as an keyboard is connected. what could be the cause of this behavior?
Kind regards
K.

Re: HP Gen10 Microserver does not boot after shutdown.
Hi @kevin2311 ,
Please check and update the BIOS to the latest version: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_d15fc35361cd4b3d9970cac995#tab2
After the update, please make sure that S.M.A.R.T is enable on all the drives. To do the same, please perform the following:
- Remove the disk(s)
- Boot the computer to UEFI prompt
- Insert the disk(s)
- Type RAID
- Use the loaded Marvell utility to go through the disks and enable S.M.A.R.T. on them.

Re: HP Gen10 Microserver does not boot after shutdown.
Hello @kevin2311
It seems a Fault condition seem to be caused when USB devices are connected prevent server to boot up.
It would be best to have a support case logged for further diagnosis on this issue in collaboration with our support engineers in real time to isolate possible hardware issue.

Re: HP Gen10 Microserver does not boot after shutdown.
short update regarding the issue.
to exclude a possible fault of the USB controller I installed a low profile PCI USB card but changed nothing.
I am now able to boot the machine following this procedure:
1. boot with no usb devices connected to the machine
2. plug in usb keyboard and bootable stick.
3. reboot via crtl+alt+f4
4 enter BIOS -> exit and save changes (no changes made).
5. System reboots without issues.
Strange behavior.
