HP ML310 server hangs after memory upgrade

I bought the hp proliant ml310e G8v2 server with 4GB of  RAM.  I also bought the memory module HP 8GB (1x8GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600R-9-10.E1 1333 ECC. When I plugged this memory into the server. the server stops with initializing at 20%.

I take a look at http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetHTML.aspx?docname=c04111535 and I think this memory modules must been supported.

Someone an idea why this memory module is not working?

Best regards, Wim

Re: HP ML310 server hangs after memory upgrade

Hi,

HP 8GB (1x8GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600R-9-10.E1 1333 ECC, is not compatible with this server model.

The reason being, this memory is a Registered DIMM (RDIMM).

This server ML310e Gen8 V2 supports Unbuffered with ECC DIMMs (UDIMMs).

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04123183.pdf

This server supports, HP 8GB (1x8GB) Dual Rank x8 PC3L-10600E (DDR3-1333) Unbuffered CAS-9 Low Voltage Memory Kit.

Thank You!
