HP ML350 Gen8 3D Sea map sensor - CPU temp BUG !!!
Hello,
I see having a BUG in 3d Sea Map for temperature of ML350 Gen8.
A technician open a server, do maintenance and forgot to put back the air flow Plastic repartition plate.
The server get some reboot after 6hours. I turned it off and i open-it. I see the plastic air flow plate was missing. But the CPU2 was very hot, and CPU 1 not.
I go take a look in temperature sensor data.
Result : both CPU was 40°C temp.
after put back the airflow plate and turned on again 1 day, the CPU temp was SAME !
2 weeks after : SAME ! always 40°C !
One other thing : I don't get any CPU temp too high or any other alert ! No good !

Re: HP ML350 Gen8 3D Sea map sensor - CPU temp BUG !!!
Hello,
I confirm this bug was in HP ILO 2.50 and 2.55B too.
I upgraded yesterday another HP ML350P gen8 from 1.6 to 2.55(B) and now the CPU temp was always 40°C
I have some DL360P and the CPU temps was right with 2.55(B). Apparently specific to ML350.
HP Staff : Please fix this bug. :)

Re: HP ML350 Gen8 3D Sea map sensor - CPU temp BUG !!! (fixed at 40°C or 104F)
Dear all,
I recently upgraded us ML350p Gen8, DL360e Gen8, DL360p Gen8, ML110 Gen8 and Microserver Gen8 to ILO 2.61 (august 2018).
The Bug of CPU temperature 40°C was still present and on all HP Proliant Gen8 servers.
Best Regards
Vincent
@HP Team : Is possible to create an issue about this bug ???

I have the same problem in a DL380p Gen8.
Just upgraded to 2.72 firmware and nothing changed.
I have another DL380p Gen8. with 2.02 firmware and the temp is working ok.
Unfortunately there is no way to roll back the firmware version, or it is?

Re: HP ML350 Gen8 3D Sea map sensor - CPU temp BUG !!! (fixed at 40°C or 104F)
Just updated the system BIOS to Version 2018.05.21 Rev. A and still cpu temp fixed to 40C
This is totally annoying because when the CPUs are 100% busy, the temperature goes up to 93C, which is below the manufacturer recommended temp.
I cannot believe a server from 2015 does not correctly control its own temperature...
