Hallo,
because of error messages in the Windows System eventviewer (OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise - with SP1) I found the following article:
Error:
DEVICE: HP NC375T PCI Express Quad Port Gigabit Server Adapter
PROBLEM: Incompatibility detected between driver and firmware on flash.
ACTION: Please upgrade firmware on flash immediately.
Log Name: System
Event ID: 282
I tried to update the HP NC375T Adapter Firmware with the package "HP QLogic P3 Online Firmware Upgrade Utility 1.3.9.3". The Installation of "cp015985.exe" failed because I had version 4.3.14.716 of the NIC Adapter Driver.
Therefor I made a "downgrade" of the driver version to 4.3.11.407 (with immediately reboot afterwards).
After that I tried to update the NIC Firmware once more but the message is still the same:
"The software is not supported for installation on this system.
Dependencies Failed -- Driver and firmware set are not allowed for update.
Please install driver version 4.3.11.407 prior to performing firmware upgrade
on devices with firmware version 4.0.550 or earlier installed. See
nxflash.log for further details.
Please 'Close' to exit Setup.
Environment:
HP ProLiant DL380 G7 - HP NC375T Quad-Port 1 GB Network Adapter
OS: Windows Server 2003 (32- / 64 Bit) / Windows Server 2008 R2
NIC Driver Version: 4.3.11.407
NIC Firmware: 4.0.550.0
What went wrong? I installed the necessary driver version but can´t update the NIC Firmware to version 4.0.556
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for your support.
Kind regards Haecki

Did you try flashing offline yet? Boot with the Firmware 9.30 DVD and see if that helps.

Re: HP NC375T - Firmware Update 4.0.556 failed
Hi James,
I installed HP Firmware Version 9.30 under Windows Server 2008 R2 OS before.
After that installing NIC drivers for HP NC382i (6.2.9.0) then NIC HP NC375T (4.3.14.716).
Also HP Network Utility 10.40.
Then I mentioned the error message in the eventviewer of Windows.
I think with QLogic as the driver provider the problems began.
Our Servers are in a network datacenter. I can´t boot with a dvd - even over HP ilO Virtual Drives (e. g. iso mount). But this is the same as I´m doing it on local drive.
Any suggestions?
Haecki

SolutionHey.. We had the exact same problem a few days ago with our DL980 G7 wich has NC375i built in nics. Something very wrong with the component by HP
Log on the server as the Local Administrator account. *Very important*
download the exe file to the server if you havn't done that. Execute it and choose extract.
open a CMD in windows, if 2008 R2 start the cmd as administrator. Navigate to where you have extracted the exe file to ex c:\temp
A. Execute the following command: nxflash -i "Local Area Connection n" --all
B. Wait for the Flash update to complete.
C. Reboot the host.
D. After reboot, execute the following command to find the firmware information. nxflash –i ‘Local Area Connection n” –-info

Re: HP NC375T - Firmware Update 4.0.556 failed
Hi Cederberg,
YES, this is the solution (exactly as you describe).
Note: Look to case sensitivity at the parameters.
Thank you so much for your immediately support - it saved me a lot of time and nerves.
So, let´s see how I can do this for ~500 Servers. Perhaps Microsoft SCCM can help...
Greetings Haecki

Re: HP NC375T - Firmware Update 4.0.556 failed
Hi
We tried this resolution. It did not work.
While executing the command it did not say that the flash utility is completed or successful.
Please suggest if you have any other alernatives
