HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 > Smart Array P440ar > Cache Module Status > Degraded
Hello Guys,
My Raid battery status just went failed last week, I order a replacement and I was able to get it into the server this morning but unfortunately the status still failed after replacing the new battery.
Just wondering what is the next troubleshooting step?

Did you reboot the server? If you change the battery while the system is running, it may not recognise the new battery.

Agreed, the server must be off to change the battery.
I doubt you are able to do this online anyway, because you will remove 2 fans to do this.
However, check if BIOS and ILO FW are current!
There may be several issues with older firmware.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hello Torsten,
Thank you for replying, I can confirm I shutdown the host before I replace the unit plus two fan and that cable panel lol.
I will reboot the server and back into Bios and raid configuration to see whats up with this battery.
My iLo firmware is 2.55, I will say very recent.
Best Regards,
CooR
