HP Proliant DL380 G6 can not start up !
Hi everyone ! I got a problem relate to this server model. My action is :
1. Check the power cable and the power supplier is OK. The Led has green color.
2. Try to power off/on the Power button in front of the server but can not see anything. Black screen.
This server doesn't install OS. I want to user SmartStart CD to install Windows Server 2003 on it.
i appreciate your help !

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G6 can not start up !
Hi,
What about a different monitor, did you try?
Try removing any tape drives or USB drives if connected and test the server.
You may also try removing additional RAM and test with minimum RAM.
Also you can try the Guided Troubleshooting which will guide you step by step in getting such issues resolved (link is given below)

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G6 can not start up !
Actually, the server still initialize but I can not see the POST progressing ! So I can not connect to iLO to check what happens with my server.
I also try to plug in/out the disks but still the same.
It ran in a few minutes and all disk go to black color. Power led still green.
You mean I should plug in/out RAM and check again ?

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G6 can not start up !
I try to use your recommend above, but still not solve the problem.
When I check the CMOS, I saw slot 8 was ON. I don't know when the slot 8 switch ON. Actually, from the document, slot 8 is used for reserved. And I also switch slot 6 to ON. After that I power-on server. Still not see the POST progressing on the screen.
Finally, I powered off the server. And switch slot 6 and 8 to OFF mode. Power-on server and still the same.
Any other ideas ? :(

Re: HP Proliant DL380 G6 can not start up !
I've just had the same issue, blank screen, with or without RED Health & Memory light. The culprit turned out to be 1 RAM module.
My server model is DL380 G6.
