HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 Jumpers - What do they do?

Hi there,

can anyone contribute information on what the following jumpers do on a HP Proliant MicroServer Gen8 mainboard?

I see multiple "groups" of jumpers not documented by HPE on the board:

  1. Set of 3 jumpers (J23, J9, J8) close to what I guess would be the B120i controller
  2. Set of 2 jumpers (J5, J10) close to what I guess would be the B120i controller
  3. J11 (clear CMOS?)
  4. J16 which is a 14-pin-header of 7 pins in 2 rows.

Thank you!!

Hello,

The available information about the system board could be found at section Component identification > System board components, on page 74 of the HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 Maintenance and Service Guide. This guide does not list any jumper information.

Re: Query: HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 Jumpers - What do they do?

Hello there,

thanks for answering.

I'm aware of the contents of said Maintenance and Service Guide, as well
as all the other documents regarding the Gen8 MicroServer, and the lack
of this specific information -- hence my question.

The 2 by 7 pin connector, I could meanwhile identify as NMI header -
that info was indeed part of the Maintenance Guide.

On the MicroServer mainboard, there are 6 more jumpers, each having
three pins, two of which are shortened with a blue jumper cap. What do
these jumpers do?

Please find images attached to this answer.

Best regards,

Here are the pictures. Unfortunately, I could not add them on this forum directly, therefore have to link them.

@HPE: Could you please provide information on the functions of these jumpers?

Thank you!

Good day!

Thank you for the Post.

We see they are CMOS, NMI Jumper and System Maintenance Switch.

Document - HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 Maintenance and Service Guide | HPE Support

Please refer the above document as well.

Would request not to utilize or access the Switches or Connectors for which the  information not available on the Service and Maintenance Guide.

Also the information may not be available publicly.
