HP Proliant ML330 G6 wont fail over to UPS battery back up..
I have customer with an HP Proliant ML330 G6 that wonтАЩt fail over to UPS battery backup. The building lost power and the server was on an APC SMART UPS and instead of running off the battery it shutdown. So the customer replaced the UPS with a Cyber Power OR1500LCDRM2U and charged up the battery for a few days, then as a test with the server plugged in to the battery backup on the cyber power, then unplugged the cyber power from the outlet to simulate loss of power and the server shut down when it should have ran off the battery on the UPS.
This behavior is the same with two different higher end UPS battery backups. When the same tests are run with custom built servers they run as expected off the battery back no problem. Is there a bios setting or something I am missing? Could the RAID controller card be an issue or...:?/
Quick specs: HP PROLIANT ML 330 G6 TOWER SERVER>I7 XEON CPU/4 GB RAM/2 x 1 TB Seagate 7200 rpm sata 2 drives/dvd/ Adaptec raid controller not sure what model at the moment.
Any help and suggestions are welcome! DonтАЩt be shy I need some help :?)

Re: HP Proliant ML330 G6 wont fail over to UPS battery back up..
In this case, I do not think the problem is the raid controller.
some setting in the setup can not be.
each server has its ups approved type has checked whether the model used is approved for this server?

Re: HP Proliant ML330 G6 wont fail over to UPS battery back up..
As long as there is power, the server runs.
Now you need special software on the server that listens to the UPS. Once on battery, a counter starts to begin the shutdown.
Check your servers UPS software settings!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
