HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen9 Server & Matrox G200eH screen resolution problem

Hi there,

I would like to seek your help regarding the resolution settings with this card. We did install Windows Server 2019 standard edition and it is working fine, but the maximum resolution that we can select is 1600 x 1200 but the required would be 1920 x 1080 .

I did install the latest driver https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_de2c0f0e28124d849c6fa5c0ac&swEnvOid=4231 but it is still the same.

Is there anything I missed?

Regards,

Zsolt

Hi, ZsoltR

This video adapter support 1920x1080 resolutions.
The driver "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\mxg2hs16.inf_amd64_9cc20cd6ba132484\mxg2hs16.inf"  says:

This may be a limitation of monitor drivers.

What drivers are currently installed on the monitor in the system?

Thank you so much for the idea. This is a bit complicated, as no monitor connected to the server at this moment. We access it with ILO and Zoho Assist / Teamviewer (also have RDP connection from the internal network, but due to a special installation process the third-party application access had to be granted) A software is running on the server and that needs the full HD resolution.

Is there any way to force Windows to use different monitor driver instead of the generic pnp driver? (it supports only 32 bit color depth and I guess the Matrox supports full HD resolution in 16 bit only)

Will try to connect a monitor later today and test it with that (due to the location, it is a bit tricky)

Re: HPE ProLiant DL160 Gen9 Server & Matrox G200eH screen resolution problem

HI There,

Good day!

If all the driver and firmware version is update, Kindly check the monitor settings. It should have 60Hz as its refresh rate. If not 60Hz, change and check for the resolution.

Steps to check

Display Settings --> Display --> Advansed Display Settings --> Review the Display information.. If Refersh ratye is above or below 60Hz, Change it to 60Hz by clicking on Dsplay adapter properties for display , Select the second tab (monitor) and change the screen refresh rate.

Cheers.
